Introduction to Christian Meditation - 4-week course
Are you searching for peace and a deeper stillness in your life? Find out how meditation was rediscovered within the Christian tradition as a form of contemplative prayer and how it is practiced today by many Christians around the world. To Celebrate 200 years of Methodism in Outlane the Church Council have invited previous Ministers to return to take a service and on Sunday 12th March Rev David Bidnall will be returning to lead the service at Outlane Methodist Church. David was Minister at Outlane and Superintendent minister for the Circuit for many years so Outlane would like to invite anyone who wishes to see David to come to this service. Easter Celebration Sunday 2nd April 2023 @7pm Huddersfield Town Hall Hope Huddersfield are hosting an Easter Celebration at Huddersfield Town Hall. We will welcome J John and Gaz Thompson as special guests. This will be evangelistic in focus so a perfect opportunity to intentionally invite friends, family and neighbours. I have attached some promotional material for Facebook, Instagram and your church Notices. We are still working out with the Town Hall how best to organise tickets but we wanted you to be able to share the exciting news! We also have a link to two video especially recorded by J John which you can download via We Transfer: https://we.tl/t-YcLhOjXxY9 The first is a short interview with J John and Steve Hurd from Hope Huddersfield, as he talks about the event and how to invite people, the second is a shorter 30 second talking head recording which will give a flavour of what to expect on the night, we would love for you to show this in your churches. This year the Circuit project is Action for Children and during Lent we have some leaflets available which have some thoughts for each day during Lent, giving us information, asking for our thoughts, speak to friends or family and on some days make a donation for specific reasons. We are a few leaflets still at church, however if you need one please contact David Schofield, or print the leaflet (attached). We are asking for leaflets and any donations to be passed to David before the end of April, so that these can be passed on to the Circuit. There is an opportunity to Gift Aid in your donation if you pay UK income tax, as long as you complete and return the back of the leaflet. Rob was Minister at Outlane and Lindley for many years so the church members would like to invite anyone from your church who remembers Rob to join Outlane at their service of celebration. A faith lunch will follow the service which all the congregation are welcome to join with.
District Facebook Page. The District Office has recently set-up a Facebook group for those across our District. They hope this will be a space for sharing good news, local events and ideas for supporting church and mission from across the Yorkshire West District. Christmas Fayre and Lunches at Outlane Methodist Church Saturday 19th November 10am to 2pm.
Lunches served from 12noon. All welcome. Saturday 19th November, Lindley Christmas Market will be coming to Lindley Methodist Church. Stalls will be open from 10am-3pm including a wide range of crafts, gifts, food as well as tea and coffee available. Everyone welcome to come along.
