Two Truths in One Land – The Road to Reconciliation. This is a free talk at Huddersfield University on 24th November in which Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger and Palestinian Noor Awad discuss their personal experience of life in the West Bank and their hopes for reconciliation moving forward. The event is free, but a place should be booked online at

Huddersfield Mission are hosting a concert by the Rock Choir on Saturday 26th November. Doors open 6.30pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets £5. Contact [email protected]

Netherton Methodist Church are kicking off the festive season with their annual band concert featuring the Meltham and Meltham Mills Band, Saturday 26th November, 3pm. Tickets £8 inc refreshments. Details on the poster attached.

Dalton St Paul's is holding a memorial service for those who have lost loved ones recently. It will be on Wednesday 30th November 6.30pm followed by refreshments.

The United Church, Marsden invite you to their pantomime – Harr(v)y Po(r)tter and the Christmas Star. Shows are on Saturday 26th November at 3pm and 7pm. Tickets £3 adult/£2 children, available from 07984279984. Poster attached. 

The United Church, Marsden are also holding their nativity display this year and welcome contributions from anyone:
"We are holding our Nativity display event again this year on Saturday 3rd December. It would be lovely if the other churches or individuals have anything nativity related that they would like included in our display. This can be brought to the church (bottom of Peel St, Marsden, HD7 6AB) throughout the week leading up to the event, on arrangement and can be collected on Sunday 4th or returned throughout the following week.”

Community Cards

Community Cards collect greetings cards all year round to upcycle and make into new which are then sold with surplus money going to the Welcome Centre. Please consider collecting them in your Church and either taking to the Welcome Centre depot in Lockwood or phone Mairi on 852300 who will arrange collection.  Thank you.

500 CD'S

Please pass on a message from Elaine Moores: “I am in possession of around 500 CD 's as the collection of my late and longstanding friend who has just passed away aged 97. They are in excellent condition and are mixed genres from the 40's and 50's. There are lots of big band sounds, the singers and orchestral pieces of the era and some classical. If any of your church members or folk they know who would appreciate some or all of this collection please contact Elaine on 07855703334 by text or phone asap.
